Family Photographers Kansas City | Brooklyn at Burr Oaks
Luckily we were able to shoot this family session between our crazy pattern of rain. It seems every week I am holding my breath hoping another session doesn’t get rained out. I am more surprised to see the sun than I am to see a thunderstorm at this point !
This night was beautiful, lots of sunshine and not even a sprinkle. Plus a really sweet family with darling little girl.
Mom and Dad were thinking that Brooklyn wasn’t really acting like herself. Not as smiley, not as happy as usual. That something was just off for her. I hadn’t met Brooklyn before, but even I could tell that she wasn’t happy. Most one year olds are silly and giggly…even if they are shy at first. I found out later that she had a bit of a tummy bug. So no wonder she wasn’t smiley and having fun like she might usually be. I have never shot a session with a stomach bug so I can only imagine how tough it would be to have to get through an entire photo shoot feeling under the weather!
I do think we still managed to capture some great shots during our time together. And even though it wasn’t exactly the same I think we may have gotten some tiny glimpses of the true Brooklyn here and there. Thanks in large part to her momma who thought to bring along some bubbles. She loved them and was distracted enough to have a little fun. They really saved the day in the end!
