Blue Springs Newborn Photography | Blues and Grays Boy
After a few small bumps in the road, a fever for him, and an unimpressive ice storm for Kansas City, I finally had the chance to meet Liam. I had recently had a run of very alert babies and was keeping my fingers crossed that he might sleep for me. He did in fact sleep and I was able to get so many sweet images of him. He did wake up at the very tail end during parent shots, but we swaddled him and kept right on shooting. He was as calm as could be so it worked out perfectly.
His parents chose a white, blue and gray color scheme. This is definitely a very popular color trio for boys right now. When clients fill out our questionnaire prior to the session these three colors appear on almost every little boy’s form. It sometimes makes it challenging for me to keep things different from client to client, especially if I have a long string of baby boys. In this case, his parents brought in a couple of props from his nursery and a special gift from his grandparents (the awesome pedal car pictured) to make his session unique. While I have more than enough props for all my little clients, I certainly don’t mind photographing babies with one or two sentimental items from home.
When deciding what to bring along really think about how much the item means to you. Do you love it? Was it gifted by someone special to your baby? Is it something you will always keep and pass down to your little one? Does it have significant sentimental meaning? Those are the type of props to bring from home. Don’t feel bad if you don’t bring along every hat, bow, and stuffed animal every aunt, friend, and neighbor gifted you with. This session is to capture your baby, not your baby’s shower gifts. Liam’s session is a perfect example of making just the right choices on props to bring from home.
Thank you for choosing me as your photographer Alejandra and Jacob. It was a pleasure capturing this special time in your lives!
