Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Everly for the first time. She is the sweetest little thing. I don’t think she cried once. And that is quite the miracle, seeing as she went through three outfit changes. Of course her momma thought ahead and had plenty of puffs on hand. And puffs, my friends are like magic. Whenever a little one even starts to look upset, just pull out the puffs and their eyes begin to widen. All emotional baggage that was about to come bursting out is shoved down into the depths of their tiny souls and silenced. All for puffed cereal flavored like bananas.

Doesn’t sound so spectacular right…that’s why they are magic! So before you head my way, mommas, throw some puffs in your bag!

So Everly loved puffs and her Daddy. I think she probably loves Daddy more but for the sake of list making we are going to group those two together for now.

He had to take a business call while we were shooting but when he could, he would peek in and wave, or do whatever it is that Daddies do to make their little girls smile.

Daddies are a kind of magic too.

I know her momma was a little worried that we didn’t think to sing her favorite song until halfway through the session. Maybe she didn’t smile enough during the first setup…definitely not the case. I shared some of those images so she could breathe a sigh of relief. Perfectly sweet, happy, smiling and eating the set. By the way, her momma made that sign, number one, the cake smash banner/cake and painted the chair. I am pretty sure I didn’t make a single thing for my kiddos’ first photo session. I also heard her use the term, “at the gym”. So her daughter is barely one and she is going to the gym, making props, raising a baby and baking a smash cake. I am pretty sure those are just the things she did yesterday.

I am going to have to revise my list. Things that are magic (in no particular order): Mommas, Daddies and puffs. Couldn’t have shot this session without ’em!
