Infant Photography Kansas City | May the Fourth be with You
This session was shot five years ago and is probably the most involved any of my Star Wars newborn shoots have gotten. It seems appropriate to share on this day, right?
I have to admit I am not a big Star Wars fan. Let me rephrase, I am not a Star Wars fan. I also don’t care for Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones. I just don’t love fantasy or science fiction of any kind. And I feel like that’s okay. I want to watch comedies and not track the details of different worlds and armies. I am doing good to just remember what is happening here on Earth. Now I have tried (because I love my husband), but my mind wanders and I just can’t focus on the details. And let’s be honest, I am probably gonna fall asleep.
My husband and son love these films. They watch them together and it is something special they share. I can appreciate their love for the franchise. And I can appreciate die-hard fans who know all the facts and can quote the films. I appreciate that people want to incorporate things they love into their newborn sessions. I will do whatever I can to make your newborn photos special and personal.
While I think it looks like a fun group to be a part of, I believe if I started watching them because my husband and son liked them I would feel like such a poser. I would suffer so greatly from impostor syndrome that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy my membership in the club. I mean these movies have been out for decades and I would be a little late to the party, know what I mean? Please don’t hate on me for my honesty.
So, I know may be missing out on something great. OR I may be letting the true fans enjoy what they love without me trying to take over something sacred that I don’t truly appreciate. Yeah, I’m gonna go with that theory. Because if I am being honest I just want to watch Bridesmaids 100 times.
To all of you true fans out there, May the Fourth be with you.
