Kansas City Infant Photography | Moses 5 weeks old

Kansas City Infant Photography | Moses 5 weeks old

Moses came to see me wide eyed and ready to party.  Like this dude was not going to sleep, no way no how.

He was five weeks old on the day of our shoot and his momma knew going in that it may not be possible to get the curly sleepy newborn poses that I usually do.  But I was hopeful that maybe, just maybe he might zonk out and I could make some magic happen.

Yeah, not so much.

He apparently decided on the ride over that he wasn’t going to sleep and I wasn’t going to be able to talk him into.  He had made his mind up and he wasn’t going to budge.  I admire his determination and commitment at such a young age.

So, once I gave up and threw in the towel on the whole sleep issue I was ready to refocus and instead try to get sweet expressions and great eye contact.  He had the eye contact thing down, looking right at me in every single shot.  And see those where he is “sleeping”…he is totally faking it.  However, I was just sneaky enough to move that block gently under his fingers and knock out a couple shots before he stirred.

His momma and I high fived on that one.

This session wasn’t like every other one, but that’s fine.  I had the opportunity to be creative and work hard, and I love that.

And the bonus of a baby that won’t sleep…I get extra time to rock and snuggle them.  Definitely a win for me!

Hope you love these images of your handsome little man, it truly was a pleasure working with him.
