Lee’s Summit First Birthday Photos | Have fun being One Caden

Caden was a little shy when he came in for our session. This seems to be the way with many babies after the year we had in 2020. So many of them haven’t really been out much due to Covid. So when they show up at the studio for their sessions it sometimes takes a bit to warm up. It’s completely understandable and I am happy to sit with them while they check things out. I always have mom sit with them for a bit in the set so they can feel safe and sure that she isn’t going to leave. After a bit of chatting and getting used to the surroundings, most babies are usually ready to go.

You can see that we were able to get a ton of great smiles and expressions from Caden. He was just so adorable. I think my favorite shot is the one with his hands on his head with the giant smile. Such a sweet capture. And I always like a shot that showcases those tiny little baby teeth.

He did a great job with his cake too. This is often the first time many babies have had anything sweet. And certainly the first time they have had free reign to dig into an entire cake. Sometimes they are a bit unsure. As long as they don’t hate having messy hands most of them loosen up and at least take a few bites. If necessary we can always hide some puffs in the back for them to pull out and just fake it until we have what we need.
