Newborn Photography Lee’s Summit | Introducing Landon
Meet Landon, he came to see me at 15 days old. He was another little one born while I was on a vacation with my own littles. I like to shoot around the 10 day mark, if I get to choose. It doesn’t always happen that way because babies are born when they want to be born. However, I will shoot up to 21 days and usually get the same results. I just have to work a little bit harder. The older your newborn gets the less curly and sleepy they want to stay during our time together.
Now the not sleepy thing can be a make it or break it kind of deal, seeing as I shoot posed newborns and not lifestyle. However, I don’t mind one bit if there is a brief period of wakefulness. It allows for a little extra fun. I am cracking up over that adorably goofy look he was giving me one moment. And his eye contact couldn’t have been better. Something a little different and unique for his momma to have in her gallery. Don’t get me wrong, I am NEVER going to wake a baby up to get these kind of shots (let me emphasize..NEVER) but if it happens it happens. You gotta make the best of it!
Luckily he did decide to snooze again, and I worked fast to capture some more sweet images. He was a strong little man and I needed him to be completely out to really relax into the poses. I really can’t stand a clenched fist in a newborn image…drives me nuts. So I persisted until he loosened up those fingers and toes and I am so happy with how they turned out.
