Newborn Photos Blue Springs | Quilt by Momma

Stanton made his appearance right before my family and I left on our family vacation (hoping to blog that one day soon!) so we had to wait awhile to meet. He was the first studio session I shot upon my return and I was so excited to see his sweet face. He was 17 days old on session day, which is a teeny bit older than I typically shoot. Turned out not be a big deal at all. He did great and stayed really sleepy for me right up to the very end.

We had no trouble knocking out the usual poses and I was able to get in all the special things his momma brought from home, which always makes me happy. I shared one of them here, that amazing quilt. It is the very first one she has ever made and she did all herself (minus the quilting). Yes, seriously, she sewed each and every one of those feathers. She cut every piece of fabric…which happen to not match but still match perfectly. And she did it all in about four months. That project would take me four years and it would come out looking all sorts of awful. What a lucky guy to have such an amazing keepsake. And I am totally jealous and want her to make one for me. Please feel free to do so Lindsay. You know, in all the free time you have 😉

It was a great start back to work after having a week and a half off to relax and enjoy my family. Thanks for being so good to me Stanton, you’re the best, kid.

And for making work not seem like too much work at all.
