Newborn Photos KC | Briggs Newborn Session

It seems like Mandy has been expecting this baby forever. It was ages ago we booked the session. Months ago we shot her maternity photos. And a week past her due date she was emailing me saying, “Every morning I wake up and can’t believe I am still pregnant.” I was totally Facebook stalking her to see if she had posted a pic of that baby…nope, nothing!

Well, the wait was totally worth it because this handsome guy was so perfect for me. He was completely adorable with perfect skin and dark hair. And when I say perfect skin I mean flawless. So the newborn photographer in me was elated! And he was sleepy. So sleepy. I barely saw his eyes. And that is just the way I like my babies. It makes posing so much easier and transitions smoother. And it gives me more time to enjoy what I am doing and take in their sweetness.

If you have ever had your own little one you know what it is like to stare at their tiny face and think about how amazing new life is. Like, “I can’t believe I had a hand in creating this.” And how before they arrive you are busy preparing and doing and going. Waiting and waiting (in Mandy’s case, waiting some more). Then when that baby arrives time stops for just a second and you feel a new chapter of your life begin. And once it starts it’s as if it was always written that way. This baby was yours from the beginning, you just hadn’t turned that page of your story.

I feel so blessed to be the one to capture the beginning of this chapter for Briggs’ family.
