Lee’s Summit Family Photography | Kauffman Gardens and Two Sisters

Lee’s Summit Family Photography | Kauffman Garden Sisters

This may be my very last session photographed at Kansas City’s Kauffman Gardens near the Plaza.  As I have mentioned before they are closing their gates to photography sessions as of July 1st. So if your family is hoping to have photos there, time is ticking away, you have just a little over a week to go!

Because this was my last time in the gardens as a photographer it seems fitting that I would shoot the particular family’s session here.  The first time we met was in the gardens.  We shot a fall family session when big sis was just about two years old.  This time was just as much fun, but a lot less running for me.  It is pretty amazing what a difference two years can make when it comes to toddlers.  Both girls did just awesome, as I was expecting.  Little sis pretty much rocked the whole thing considering we were shooting just an hour shy of her usual bedtime. Plus both girls are super cute and super cute can never hurt when it comes to family photos.

The only thing I would have changed if I could were the flowers.  Or I should say, lack of flowers.  We were guessing due to all the rain they were having to replant quite a bit.  So I had to get really creative to get any color besides green in any of the shots.  Not what you would usually expect when shooting in a location like this.  But I can’t really complain, we had a beautiful night with no rain.  Plus it was quiet with only one other person shooting.  And did I mention that girls were so well behaved? Well, it always bears mentioning again.

I really doubt I will be back as a visitor because, let’s be honest, I don’t really dig sitting quietly on a bench thinking quiet thoughts staring at flowers.  But to each their own, it is probably a really cool thing to do for some people.  Just not this girl! So happy to go out the way I came in…shooting!
