I was so happy when Amanda contacted me to book a session for her third baby girl. I hadn’t seen this family since our last outdoor family session about three or four years ago. So needless to say I was looking forward to seeing how much the girls have changed. They have both grown up so much. They were so polite and sweet and perfect listeners. Plus they were very patient during family and sibling shots which I loved. I most often shoot sibling shots with at least one sibling who is closer to two years old. And although my post and social media shares would lead you to believe that it is an easy peasy thing to do, it is in fact, one of the hardest parts of the job.

As any parent of a toddler knows they are not always the very best at listening and often are very independent. Plus, not being the baby in the family anymore has got to be a huge culture shock. So all that combined sometimes leads to a lot of coaxing and patience from me and the parents. If we are lucky and play our cards right we can get at least one great shot. It takes some skill and knowledge to get it done. I have been working with babies and toddlers for 12 years, I have it as close to a science as possible.

However, when you get the opportunity to work with older siblings like Aubrey and Kaley, it is such a treat. They are willing to do whatever you need them to do so their momma has the perfect family photo. Thanks to these girls we started off our session with ease and to be honest, Hallie was just as easy to work with too.

While I might not get to photograph any more newborns for this family I hope I get the opportunity to see them all again in the future. I absolutely love these people.
