Olathe Newborn Photography | Sitter Sessions

Anna Marie Photography specializes in newborn photography, but we love to follow babies while they are growing up. Some of our favorite sessions are sitter sessions. These sessions are scheduled once the baby is sitting well on their own. It’s a great session as the baby is all smiles, and usually isn’t very mobile! As all you mamas know, once a baby starts crawling it’s so much more difficult to keep them still. You should hear the crazy noises that come out of this studio when we are trying to get a baby to smile. Don’t judge us, but we would do just about anything to get a good image. Even if that means acting a fool. Parents are always a big help getting the laughs, they know all the secret comedy moves usually reserved for home.

Our sitter session includes 2 backdrop choices, 2 outfit changes and 20-30 minutes of shooting time. We like to keep these short and sweet as babies typically tire and grow bored during longer sessions. It’s best to work quickly and not wear them out.

With each backdrop, you can choose a different outfit to match. These sessions are simple, with very little props. Our goal is to focus on baby’s chubby cheeks, leg rolls and darling smiles. These are considered portrait sessions, to document baby’s growth.

If you love props our Deluxe Newborn Sessions can include a couple of prop setups by request. And of course, if you book a Deluxe Cake Smash with our studio you’ll get the works. We love to go all out on themes and decorations when we celebrate baby’s first birthday.

Remember, sitter sessions are all about your baby. Capturing those baby smiles and those cute little giggles. It’s true, life gets crazy after you have a baby. Obviously, adding a new family member is a pretty big deal. Capturing those milestones during the first year can be forgotten about. It can be easy to put it off. We all have cell phones, those pics will do. Right? Listen to us when we tell you this. Cell phone images are not worthy of that new little human. Cell phone pics are for social media. You need to document these fleeting moments with beautiful professional portraits.
